Dunlop Yorkshire Padel League

Title decider goes down to three-way shootout

Chapel A were Division 1 winners of this year’s Dunlop Yorkshire Padel League, claiming the title after a three-way shoot out against Harrogate Sports & Fitness Club and Rawdon.

The league moved to a new format this year, with eleven clubs and 44 teams competing across six divisions and matches taking place over four match weekends, finishing 24th August. By that time, over 200 matches had been played.

The mixed division was the closest of all, with a games count back required after the top three clubs finished on the same points total.

League organiser Simon Bickerton said: “The match weekend format proved popular, but next year there will be a maximum of four teams at each two-court venue. We hope to include juniors, and further expand the competition for senior players too. Thank you to all the host clubs, the players and the Yorkshire Padel Committee for their help and support, a great season!”
