The Yorkshire Tennis Limited Board is made up of the following people.
Steve has been appointed to be Chair and Director of Yorkshire Tennis since the inception of Yorkshire Tennis Limited in December 2022. As a volunteer administrator, Steve had previously enjoyed nine years of Chairing Wetherby Castlegarth Tennis Club’s Committee, and been an active member at both Wetherby and Starbeck Tennis Club for over 10 years, playing competitive and social tennis whilst participating in the fabric of both Clubs.
Steve currently works in the Space Communications sector and subsequent to exiting Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd as a founder director, he currently works as Group CEO for Celestia Technologies Limited. Steve is committed to developing tennis in the county and ensuring that Yorkshire remains at the top table of highest performing counties for Competition, Performance, Volunteering and Participation.
Chris has been involved in tennis from a young age and was Chairman of Barnsley Tennis Club for over 20 years during which he led the expansion and transformation of its facilities. Since joining Yorkshire Tennis as a Councillor, Chris has held various positions including Management Committee Member and President and was recently appointed Vice Chair of Yorkshire Tennis Ltd. Chris also Chairs the Initiative Committee which involves raising income from Sponsors and Patrons which contribute to Yorkshire tennis activities particularly growing participation, junior development and grass roots tennis. As a keen tennis player Chris won the Yorkshire over 55s singles title and has represented the Yorkshire over 55s and 60s County Veterans teams. In 2022 Chris was awarded the prestigious LTA Meritorious Service Award for his contribution to Tennis.
Bob Lockwood was appointed Finance Director of Yorkshire Tennis Limited in December 2022. He is a keen tennis player, playing at David Lloyd in Harrogate and at Almscliffe and Burton Leonard Tennis Clubs.
Bob Is now retired after spending his working life in management consultancy, and then Group Treasurer of Rowntree before it was acquired by Nestle, Group Treasurer of Pilkington and Finance Director of its European Automotive Glass business and finally as Finance Director of Dynex Semiconductor in Lincoln and of its quoted parent company, Dynex Power Inc in Toronto.
In addition to playing tennis, Bob is a keen walker and golfer. He is married with three children and two grandchildren.
Angela is Head Coach at Angela Crossley Tennis Coaching based in the Wetherby & Harrogate areas. She is also an LTA tutor delivering UKCC level 1 & 2 courses.

LTA accredited +coach, LTA Tutor and Chair of Yorkshire’s Performance, and Talent ID Committee. My aim is to help Yorkshire Tennis players be the best they can be, represent their County with passion, grow the game through our club’s and venues to create a player pathway for all.
Adrian is the LTA Councillor for Yorkshire, a role that he has held since 2015. Councillors work alongside the LTA in supporting the delivery of the British Tennis Strategy, and are a communications link between the LTA and their county association.
Adrian has also been on the Tennis Development Committee of the LTA since 2017 and this group supports the LTA Executives in delivering their primary strategic objectives.
In his spare time away from tennis volunteering, Adrian has a full-time job (!) as Chief Executive of a business centre in South Yorkshire. He is still an active league player and occasional tennis coach.
