St Andrews is not the oldest club in Yorkshire but to be able to celebrate 100 years is an achievement for a small club of 2 courts. St Andrew’s Tennis Club, Sheffield was founded by St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in 1923 on a site just off Westbourne Road but they moved to their present site on Graham Road in 1924 when they acquired what was described as “a delightful little spot”.
The Club still enjoys a happy relationship with St Andrew’s URC, Upper Hanover Street, Sheffield S3 7RQ.
The clubs plan is to have a year of celebrations beginning with a Birthday Party in July and also holding various events during the year and at various times so everyone gets to enjoy all the different festivities.
