Three of Yorkshire’s up and coming tennis players enjoyed the unique experience of playing on Wimbledon’s iconic grass courts this summer.
Pictured left, Thea Hodkinson, who plays at the Yorkshire Regional Player Development Centre, Joseph Holliday from Harrogate David Lloyd and Isabella Asmussen from Ilkley Tennis Club, took part in the national finals of Play Your Way To Wimbledon in August.
The annual competition is the largest grassroots tennis event of its kind in the UK, with thousands of players taking part.
Joseph made it through to the second round of the U14 Boys main draw, losing out to overall winner Mayr Brown-Devall.
Isabella also made it through the group stage to the main draw, losing a tight second round match to Kensi White who went on to reach the semi-finals.
All three came back with amazing memories, with players and their parents visiting Wimbledon’s centre court, the media area, the players lounge and dressing room.
Venue sign up to host tournaments is now open at: Play Your Way to Wimbledon 2026
