Yorkshire Tennis Chair – Steve Jones – to step down

Hi All

The senior team at Yorkshire Tennis have been aware over recent months that I have been dealing with increased pressures on my time/energy due to personal reasons. As a consequence, and in the interest of Yorkshire Tennis, I have therefore agreed to step down from my position as Chair of Yorkshire Tennis.

Clearly this has not been an easy decision to make, and it has not been taken lightly. In the short term, vice chair Chris Day will take over the Chair’s responsibilities whilst the Directors initiate the process for appointing a replacement. Chris will continue to work with the highly capable team at all levels of Yorkshire Tennis to deliver existing and imminent exciting programmes to support Tennis and Padel in our County. I will continue to offer support where it is felt helpful.

As you will appreciate, my disappointment in stepping down is significant as my investment in this role has been wholehearted, and the limit to what can be achieved in the County is high. I have enjoyed the responsibility I have undertaken and see it as a privilege to have a played a part in being a custodian of Yorkshire Tennis best interests for a period. I feel that much has been achieved, and important building blocks have been put in place, however much remains to be done.

I want to record my sincere thanks to all Volunteers, Board attendees and the wider Yorkshire Tennis family for the large amount of support and encouragement I have been offered during my time in position. I am humbled by the quality and commitment of contributions around Yorkshire Tennis and Padel in our many different clubs and organisations.

Many thanks
Steve Jones
