Are you looking for a career change / retiring or finding part time work? Yorkshire Tennis and Beckett Sport Education are helping to support local LTA Registered Venues to find more tennis and padel coaches!
There have been a number of great examples over the last few years, where people from different industries (teaching, fire service, police service, public sector for example) with transferable skills have seen them become part time of full time tennis and padel coaches, including Jill, Sophie, Peter and Dave who share their journeys on the below video link,
Get Into Coaching – Jill, Sophie, Peter and Dave Videos!
Jill switched to tennis coaching following a successful 20 year teaching career and as Jill shares, she,
“Wanted to combine my two passions, being education and teaching people with the sport that I love!”
Sophie was a PE Teacher for 15 years and got into padel a few years ago and completed her LTA Padel Instructor course in 2024,
“Padel coaching gave me more control and time over my diary and having more flexibility around family life.”
Peter retired from teaching after 46 years and discovered tennis recently and got into coaching. Peter sums up this journey,
“I’m living proof, its never to late to start!”
Dave was a frontline firefighter for 30 years and got into padel on retirement to keep himself fit and active…a few years later Dave is now coaching part time and highlights,
“Delivering and sharing your knowledge is really rewarding!”
