As a junior Jake played at an international level with a training base predominately in Spain (competing around Europe/ America, including at the prestigious Orange Bowl event). At 18 Jake took some time out of tennis to complete a Sport Psychology Degree, which was a positive step in terms of his overall personal and professional development. His degree, alongside additional work experience placements, has significantly enhanced his understanding of the game, the psychological demands within tennis and how his coaching can help to embed fundamental skills within players. Jake came back to tennis with fresh eyes and a renewed perspective to help players grow both on and off court.
Jake is captain of the Yorkshire 11&U Girls team and he has previously been the assistant coach for various age groups within the county. This role helps him to see a number of the RPDC players outside of their formal training programme which has significantly aided his group and individual work with them.
Jake has been an integral part of the RPDC team since January 2025 and continues to establish himself as an excellent assistant coach within the programme.
