Andy Hutchinson’s recent success!

After reaching the singles final of the over 55s at the  British indoors open, and  winning a nationals doubles title at the hard courts as well as the Scottish Open Singles title earlier in the year ,I was selected to represent Great Britain in the world championships in Lisbon in the late summer. Only the top four players in the country are selected so it was a great honour. It was a fantastic (AND HOT!) week , starting with an opening ceremony ,with 26 countries taking part, After losing to Italy (who were clay court specialists) we then defeated Switzerland, Denmark and Portugal  before losing to Canada and Holland after a few injuries depleted our team. We finished the event in 11th place with France winning the world title.
Andy Hutchinson has recently been invited to play for a select over 50s Great Britain team for a match in Eindoven against Holland at the end of November.
