Available Coaching Roles: Thorncliffe, Sheffield

HEAD COACH OPPORTUNITY

Thorncliffe Tennis & Pickleball Club is a fast growing and award-winning community club in the north of Sheffield, serving a large catchment area with no nearby competing clubs. Over the past two years, membership and junior participation have doubled, facilities have been upgraded with three newly-resurfaced LED floodlit outdoor courts, plus two additional outdoor courts being re-opened. Plans for this year include padel and further facility development.

This is a leadership role. The club is seeking a coach who wants to take ownership of a programme and build it.

The successful candidate will lead and structure all coaching activity, grow junior and adult pathways, expand school links across 13 feeder schools, strengthen inclusive and disability provision, and develop additional revenue streams including holiday camps and private coaching.

Head Coach (Part-Time, Self-Employed)

WHAT THE CLUB OFFERS

  • No court or coaching fees payable to the club
  • Income based on a per-attendee model rather than hourly rate, creating strong earning potential as participation grows
  • Grant and club-subsidised sessions, paid per individual attendee, providing immediate income stability
  • An established base of regular coaching sessions already in place
  • Full committee backing and autonomy to build and shape the programme

We would welcome applications from LTA Level 4 coaches looking to lead and grow a significant programme. Level 3 Accredited+ coaches ready to take ownership are encouraged to apply. We would also consider a highly motivated and ambitious Level 2 coach with a clear commitment to progressing to Level 3, with support provided by the club.

This is a genuine build-and-grow opportunity in an area with significant untapped potential.
