Dunlop Yorkshire Tennis Doubles League

Welcome to the 2025 Dunlop Yorkshire Tennis Doubles League organised by myself Jonny Moore, the new competitions lead for Yorkshire Tennis. As we look ahead to 2026, I’d like to wish all clubs, teams, captains and players a FUN and COMPETITIVE season. I will be on hand throughout the year if needed and can be contacted at: competitions@yorkshiretennis.org.uk

It would be great if captains and players can encourage other teams in their district to enter. The vision is to grow the league and create a structure that unites clubs from all districts in Yorkshire and gives players the chance to compete against different people and visit different clubs.

Good luck, play well and enjoy the battles.

Every set and every game matters in new format Dunlop Yorkshire Doubles League

Huddersfield were winners of the women’s division one title and Skipton won the men’s title in this year’s new format Dunlop Yorkshire Tennis Doubles League.

The new format of two pairs per team proved popular, along with the new scoring system which awards three points for a match win and two points for the team winning a 2-2 draw, based on sets then games count back on the day. Teams on the losing end of a 2-2 draw still gains a point, the idea being to create a competitive sense that every set and game could matter.

A total of 23 clubs and 36 teams entered the league, playing across three women’s and two men’s divisions, and 312 players took part.

Dunlop is the official ball sponsor for the league and clubs buying Dunlop balls from listed retailers can be reimbursed by Yorkshire Tennis. Click here to find out more about the offer.

Entries open soon for next year and all associate member clubs have been contacted to encourage them to participate for 2026.
