Head of Strength and Conditioning

Michael Kelly

Mike joined the Cultiv8 tennis academy in September 2022. Prior to that he spent four years as the Head of Strength and Conditioning at SotoTennis academy, Spain, where he was responsible for the physical development of all full-time and access players within the academy. He managed the coaching and programming for players of all ages including younger players starting their Tennis Europe and Junior ITF journeys as well as older players competing on the ITF, ATP and WTA tours and those moving onto American and British universities.

Before moving to Spain, Mike worked in the North East of England providing his strength and conditioning services to many young tennis players as well as athletes from a wide range of other sports during his time at Durham University. He’s worked with tennis players representing Great Britain, a female Scotland international footballer, a British championship finalist 800m runner, amongst many others. Spending time in multiple sports with athletes aging from eight to 30+ years has helped Mike to develop and adjust his coaching style so he is able to connect and coach athletes from all backgrounds.

During his coaching career Mike has always had a passion for youth athletic development. Working with younger athletes and supporting them in developing a solid foundation of athletic abilities and educating both athletes and parents on all aspects of the developing athlete.
