Yorkshire men’s and ladies teams went to Bristol to compete in the 2024 Padel UK over 40 county championships this weekend. There were 10 ladies teams 16 men’s team and 10 mixed teams.
Yorkshire made it to every final!
The mixed team won on a 10 point shout tiebreak against Surrey the team was, Gilly Smails, Sophie Cousins, Sally Fisher, Brett Pardoe, Tom Sanders, Martin Calvert, Ben Gudzalak and John Dunseath.
The women lost out in the shootout to Surrey. Team Natalie Gill, Susie Azoulay, Sophie Cousins, Sally Fisher and Gilly Smails.
The men lost 10-8 in the shootout to The Channels Islands the team was Tom Sanders, Martin Calvert, Ben Gudzalak and John Dunseath.
This is the third event run by Padel UK for a County Championships in the open. The men’s team were runners up and the women won the event in the over 50s and the men finished strong in their group.

The next two events are the over 60s in September and The Open in November.
