2024 Redmayne Bentley Yorkshire Tennis and Padel Day at The Ilkley Trophy

Rain may have stopped play but it did not stop Yorkshire Tennis and Padel!

Saturday 15th June saw the Redmayne Bentley Yorkshire Tennis and Padel Day hosted at the prestigious Ilkley Trophy often known as the Wimbledon of the North. Like often happens at Wimbledon though, the weather was not kind and no grass court tennis was possible. However, this did not stop the near 200 people gathered in the marquee celebrating all things tennis and padel in Yorkshire. As one guest said ‘the food was great but meeting old friends and making new ones was even better’. Some guests were invited as a thank you for the volunteering work they do for Yorkshire Tennis and Padel, be that as a committee member at Yorkshire or club level, county captain, coach, player, plus kids and teachers from school programmes. For the first time, tickets were also available to purchase so there was a great mixing of people from all backgrounds.

Yorkshire Tennis are very grateful to Redmayne Bentley for sponsoring the event and providing much needed umbrellas. And thanks also go to those companies – Cannon Hall Farm, Leeds Lexus, Wilkes Vending and Dunlop Sports and who provided outstanding gifts for the silent raffle. Yorkshire Tennis branded chocolate provided by JJA Snack who take a pioneering approach, teaching school children about engineering through the entire chocolate bar manufacturing process.

Some of the photos from the day show President of Yorkshire Tennis and Padel, Karen Mitchell and Chair of Yorkshire Tennis and Padel, Steve Jones doing short introductory speeches. 2024 Redmayne Bentley Yorkshire Tennis and Padel Day
