Opportunity to acquire a FREE Airhall

The LTA has four airhalls, which are being offered to registered venues free of charge.

The airhalls are from the Farley Group (www.thefarleygroup.com) with a 25-year lifespan. They had been installed at The All England Club for four years but due to developments on site are now not required. The approximate value of each airhall is £160k.

Each airhall is a slightly different size. The smallest is 34.62m x 17.38m and the largest 35.53m x 17.65m They are suitable for covering one existing or new tennis court in a single block. They could also be used to cover one padel court.

There are costs associated with installing the airhall, which would be in the region of £80k (ex. VAT). This includes the installation and a budget cost for the groundworks and associated ring beam. Each site is of course different, and we would work with you to develop the budget cost for your project and can advise and support with design and survey work.

The installation costs and any associated works would need to be paid for by your venue although the airhall and lighting would be free of charge.

You would of course be eligible to apply for an LTA Quick Access Loan to help you cover the cost of the installation, associated works and any additional new capital development projects you have planned at your venue which sit under the QAL framework – more details here – Quick Access Loan Scheme for tennis facilities.

You will also need to think about the likelihood of achieving planning at your venue and submit a planning application.

One of the airhalls has already been installed at Peterborough Tennis Club. The construction of a new court and installation of the airhall was funded by the club through a crowdfunding campaign and LTA TF loan. Visit – How Peterborough approached the installation of the airhall
