Yorkshire Tennis and Redmayne Bentley Grants a Huge Success!

Yorkshire Tennis is pleased to report a positive response from clubs across the County following the launch of the Redmayne Bentley and Yorkshire Tennis Community Engagement Grants and the Yorkshire Tennis Small Grants in March this year.

Clubs were invited to submit their applications over a six-week period and we were encouraged to receive seven applications for the Redmayne Bentley and Yorkshire Tennis Community Engagement Grants and twenty-seven applications for the Yorkshire Tennis Small Grants – this equates to around 20% of our Yorkshire Tennis Associate Member Clubs. The panel convened shortly after the closing date and clubs were contacted directly to confirm whether or not their application had been successful.

The applications were broad ranging and included Tennis programmes in clubs and schools, Padel programmes in clubs, installation of ‘Gate Access Systems’, court improvements, club house and floodlight upgrades. The successful Redmayne Bentley and Yorkshire Tennis Community Engagement applications focussed on targeted projects to work in local communities with low-income families, free schools’ tennis offers and women and girls sessions in low socio – economic areas.

Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for a possible further pot of Yorkshire Tennis Small Grants monies available in the coming months!

Yorkshire Tennis would like to acknowledge the generous support from Redmayne Bentley which has enabled a number of clubs to do some focussed Community Engagement in their club localities.
