Redmayne Bentley Yorkshire Tennis Day 2025

The Yorkshire Tennis Community came together at Ilkley LT&SC to watch some world class tennis and enjoy some great hospitality. Present were a rich mix of volunteers, club representatives, LTA representatives, County tennis and padel players, County champions, County coaches, Vice Presidents, Life Patrons and guests.

The theme for the day was Inclusion and Nat Wright, Ben Howarth, Geoff Newton and Jules Abbas – Silvera delivered a series of presentations explaining what we are doing to make tennis and padel more inclusive for participants in Yorkshire. The talks struck a chord with the audience particularly support for the open court programme which includes wheelchair tennis, visually Impaired Tennis and other less obvious disabilities so that everyone can participate. Attendees also heard how in partnership with Rackets Cubed we are targeting underserved Communities and are providing schoolchildren in Yorkshire with free tennis coaching, extra lessons and a healthy meal.

This year we were delighted to welcome tennis player Billy Harris the tournaments third seed who did a player Q&A session which proved extremely popular. This was followed by some fine Ilkley Hospitality which participants enjoyed and who were then treated to some world class tennis. Thanks go to all who helped organise a brilliant day and particularly our Sponsors Redmayne Bentley for their generous contribution and for helping ensure that this event is now firmly established within our annual calendar.
